NORFOLK ISLAND ROBBERY.
NO FURTHER DEVELOPMENTS. DETECTIVE RETURNS TO SYDNEY. There have been no developments in the polico investigation of the robbery of £SOO from the Administrator's residence at Norfolk Island. It seems likely that the case will be closed without an arrest being made. Mr. A N. Marsh, who has resigned from the position of polico officer at Norfolk Island, arrived at Auckland by the steamer Morinda yesterday. He has been succeeded by Constable Felloes, of the Canberra Police Department. Mr. Marsh said Detective-Sergeant McRae, of Sydney, who had spent three weeks on the island, had returned to Sydney. Exhaustive inquiries had been made, but nothing definite had been achieved. The amount stolen was a reserve kept by the Post Office and Savings Bank and lodged with the Administrator at Government House.
