WELLINGTON FINANCES.
COMMISSION SUGGESTED. COUNCILLOR'S MOTION. The establishment of a commission to investigate Wellington City Council affairs and the organisation of the trading departments will be (lie subject of a motion before the next meeting of the council. Mr. N. Duncan has given notice to inovo as follows:—"That the council forthwith set up a commission of inquiry to investigate the whole matter of the organisation and finances of the Wellington Cily Council and trading departments, such commission to consist of a solicitor, a public accountant and an engineer, and to have full powers to examine, investigate and question the various members of the City Council staff and to have access to all City Council records and books, and that the council shall delegate to the commission the power to make such recommendations z/B it thinks justified."
