OBITUARY.
MR. J£HN McMAHON. (Received September 14, 5.5 p.m.) SYDNEY. Sept. 14. Mr. John McMahon, the chief stipendiary steward, died in a hospital this morning. AUSTRALIAN GENERAL. SYDNEY, Sept. 14. The death Has occurred of BrigadierGeneral George Macarthur-Onslow, commanding the First Cavalry Division, New South Wales, aged 56. Brigadier-General George Macleay Macartliur-Onslow was born in New South Wales and educated at Rugby. Ho commanded the New South Wales Mounted Rifles, and went to the Great War as second in command of the 7th Light Horse. He served in Gallipoli, Palestine and Syria, and was awarded the D.S.O. and C.M.G.
