DEAF MOTOR DRIVER.
QUESTION OF CAPABILITY. "This caso raises the question as to whether deaf men of 75 or 76 years of ago should bo allowed to hold a motordriver's licence," slated Senior-Ser-geant J. Fox, when,prosecuting in Chiistchurch, in a caso where the accused, charged with negligent driving and failing to stop after an accident, was very deaf and could not hear the magistrate, Mr. E. D. Mosley, S.M., when he spoke to him. In fining the offender, Mr. Mosley said that the matter of his licence ho would leave to tho local authority.
