MORRINSVILLE INTERESTS.
NEW CEMETERY SITE. [from our own correspondent.] MOKRINSVILLE, Friday. The Morrinsville Borough Council received a letter from the Piako County Council at its last meeting regarding the new cemetery site. It was stated that the transfer had not yet been completed, but there was no objection to work being done on the ground by the unemployed. It was the intention of the county council to ask the borough council to accept the control of the new cemetery as soon as it was legally entitled to do so. Referring to the medical officer of health's model set of by-laws governing restaurants, saleyards and hairdressers, the Finance Committee reported that it recommended that a special committee be set up to revise and consolidate the bylaws. A committee was therefore appointed. The Mayor, Mr. W. T. Osborne, spoke in favour of the proposal to have tho borough created a lire district. He said it would relieve the council of responsibility and would havo tho effect of reducing fire premiums. Tho matter was referred to tho Finance Committee to report.
