FEVER CASE IN HOTEL.
AGED WOMAN'S BILL. Unique circumstances lay behind a case heard at, Manchester recently, in which Mrs. Fanny Hahlo, widow, claimed damages for alleged fraudulent misrepresentation from tho Bo.xton Palace Hotel Company, Limited, Mrs. Hahlo, a woman over 80, went to the hotel with her daugher, it was stated, in April last year, and the daughter contracted scarlet fovrir. The hotel manager, Mr. Hewlett, it was alleged, told Mrs. Hahlo that lie was going to isolate 50 rooms, and she would have to pay £SO a day for these. Mrs. Hahlo paid bills of £2Ol and £769, for which £BSO was the special charge of £SO a day. She now claimed £4BO money as overpaid. Counsel stated that only 12 rooms had been isolated. A settlement was reached on the basis of £2O a day, each side paying its own COStS.:
