MOUNTAIN SEARCH.

MR. STANTON STILL IN OPEN. BUSH CAREFULLY COMBED. MAGNIFICENT WORK DONE. No trace of Mr. Warwick Stanton, aged 18, son of Mr. J. Stanton, city solicitor, of Auckland, was found yesterday. When the searchers, now greatly reinforced, resumed their task at dawn five nights had passed since Mr. Stanton had left the Chateau early last Saturday morning to ascend Ruapehu with the other thirteen members of the university climbing party. Strenuous efforts had been made to locate him on Wednesday and when these had failed further volunteers were summoned. x The searchers yesterday had a long, tiring and fruitless task. They did magnificent work and carefully combed a large area of difficult country without success. Many returned to their homes last night, but a few stayed at the base camp established yesterday morning ready to take the arduous trail again at daybreak. They will be assisted by further parties of bushmen.
