BATHING IN THE SEA.
DANGER TO CHILDREN. BRITISH MEDICAL OPINION. LONDON, August 26. " Children should be medically examined before they bathe in the sea," says the British Medical Journal. The article points out that eeaside practitioners in different countries have expressed grave doubts whether bathing for young children is not more injurious than beneficial. " They are painfully impressed by its over-prevalent abuses," it is asserted. " Willing and unwilling, the chitdren are hurried into the water, without acclimatisation and often immediately lifter a meal." Specialised medical service for holiday makers is urged.
