[by telegraph.—press association.] •WELLINGTON, Thursday. A vacancy on the London secretariat of the British and Foreign Bible Society, which occurred through the resignation of the Rev. John Ritson, has been filled by tho appointment of tho Rev. John Robinson Temple, a member of the English Wesloyan Church. He was for 11 years a missionary in South China, and for two years a chaplain in France. He will bo a colleague of the Rev. A. H. Wilkinson, who now takes charge of the department, which includes New Zealand.
