JOCKEYS INJURED.
.*». FIVE HORSES COME DOWN. ACCIDENT AT GOSFORD. (Received September 1. 9.15 p.m.) SYDNEY, Sept. 1. Afc Gosford races to-day there was a sensational accident, when five horses came down. Two jockeys, Ivnox and Leahy, had their collarbones broken, and a third, McLeod, suffered concussion. It is believed that they were trampled upon. A fourth jockey, White, was stunned, but soon recovered, and the fifth, Nowland, was not hurt. Two horses, Miss Fort and Lady Backwood, were seriously injured and Lady Backwood was later destroyed. Tho field was approaching a turn when the leader, Lady Backwood, fell, bringing down four other horses.
