DAIRY PRODUCE GRADER.
DEPARTURE FOR ENGLAND. The chief dairy produce grader at Auckland, Mr. E. C. Wood, who is to leave for England on departmental business shortly, was bidden farewell by dairy produce merchants and members of the grading staff on Saturday evening in the Grosvenor Cafe. Mr. PI. Ji Daniel presided over a large gathering and wished Mr. Wood a successful trip."
Mr. Wood, who joined the dairy division of the Department of Agriculture 22 years .ago, spent the earlier part of his service in Taranaki, acting as chief grader for South Taranaki at Wanganui from 1910 until his transfer to Auckland over four years ago. Throughout his term in Auckland he has acted as chief grader. Mr. Wood will sail by the steamer Rangitane on September 12, and will be in England for a year, his duties comprising an investigation into the state of New Zealand produce on arrival and methods of handling.
