THE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE.

AN ERRATIC DEMAND.

A good* volume of business was done on the Auckland Stock Exchange yesterday, but a marked easing took place in the market for Government loans, for which sellers greatly predominated. Buyers' support' weakened appreciably and there was a marking down of 10s in offers for throe of tho four lines sought. Business was done in 1937 Government 5£ per cent, bonds 12s 6d lower, at £99 12s 6d, and more were quoted at £99 15s. A fall of 10s t,ook place in 1937 5g per cent, inscribed Slock, which changed hands at £99 10s and remained unsupported, although holders wore prepared to deal again at £99 15s. More attention was devoted to banks, in which levels generally were slightly easier, except in the case of New South Wales, whicn recorded an improvement of 2s 6d in a at £24 17s 6d. Commercials of Australia were secuicd & penny cheaper at 13s sd, after which they were done again a shade firmer at 13s*5Ad. More were available at 13s od, a concession of 3d on Monday s quotation New Zealands were done ad easier, at 46s 3d, with further supplies available at 465. INTERNATIONAL TIN POOL. (Received August 25, 7.5 p.m.) LONDON, August 25 An international tin pool has been formed with the concurrence of the fonr Governments of the main producing countries signatory to the tin quota agreement. The pool will release tin in accordance with a sliding scale. The initial release—s per cent, of the pool's holdingwill become effective when the average London price in any completed month exceeds £l5O.
