FALLING OFF IN EXPORTS. DECREASE TO NEW ZEALAND. (Received August 24. 7.5 p.m.) WASHINGTON, August 23. The final analysis of America's foreign trade for the year ended June 50, 1951, •was issued by the Department of Commerce to-day. It showed that the value of exports was 3,084,000.000 dollars (about £650,000,000), a decrease of 34 per cent. The value of imports was about £495,000,000, a decrease of 57 per cent. The value of exports to Oceania was £12.800,000, a decrease of £19.200,000. The exports to Australia showed a decrease of 64 per cent., and to New Zealand a decrease of 47 per cent. The exports of motor-cars to Australia were valued at only £400,000.
