WOMEN'S LEAGUE.
UNITED POLITICAL PARTY. The monthly At Home of the Auckland Women's League of the United Political Party was held in the league's rooms, Pacific Buildings, on Saturday evening. The rooms were gay with bowls of anemones and tall vases of daffodils, ferns and pot plants. Mrs. von Stunner, president, welcomed the guests. Hie hostesses for the evening were Mesdames Munroe, Tillotson and Simmons (acting secretary).
Short speeches were made by the Hon. ,J. B. Donald, Mr. G. C. Munns, M.P., Messrs. H. R. McKenzie, J. Cauglilev, M. Moore, W. 11. Murray, Miss E. R. Wilson and Mis. Ruby Watson.
Songs by Miss Coughlan, whose accompanist was Mr. Cusworth, and humorous recitations by Messrs. Arthur and Juxson were greatly appreciated. There were present: Mesdames von St tinner, Trevcthick, Stallwortby, Michaels, Munroe. Tillotson, Simmons, Coughlan, Powell, Williams. Bell, Nicholson, Haresnapc, Murray, Pcrcival, Ruby Watson, Cooke, Menzies, Brummell, Churchward, Cotiev, Cusworth, Leaning, Pearson, E. Stallwortby, Taylor, Pcnchcy, Mason Hall, Thompson, Lewis, Osborne. Martin, Grayshott, Cornwall, Misses E. R. Wilson (vice-presi-dent), Hargraves, W'arne, Mackay, Peacoeke, Trevcthick, M. and I. Wilson, Lilherland, McKenzie, Moore, Howell, (2), Sutherland, Mason, Young. There were also 30 gentlemen present, including four from the provincial executive and several from the Junior League. Supper, community singing and dancing closed another of the league s popular At Homes.
