DOMINION'S WARSHIPS.
CRUISE IN SOUTH PACIFIC. DIOMEDE RETURNS NEXT MONTH. The three New Zealand warships which are cruising in the South Pacific, the Diomede, Veronica and Laburrtum, will be at Suva together this week. The cruiser Diomede arrived there last Wednesday, and the sloop Veronica arrived yesterday. They will be joined by the sloop Laburnum to-morrow. The Diomede is scheduled to leave Suva on September 3 and to reach Auckland on September 7. The "Veronica is to remain in the Fiji Group until October 1, when she is to proceed to Tonga before she returns to Auckland on October 12. The Laburnum's future movements have not been announced but she is expected to return to Auckland nest month.
