REPORTS OF MANAGERS. MOANATAIARI CRUSHING. Moanataiari (Thames). —Since last return we have crushed eight tons of quartz and 201b. of picked stone for a return 6f 260z. 13dwt. melted gold. During the week in the New Cambria section two stopes have been in progress, but not much ore has been broken, as the reef has spliced in the roof of the stope. However, the reef is making again over the splice and slb. of picked stone were secured :n the south stope on Saturday.

MOUNT LYELL PRODUCTION. Statistics of the Mount Lyell [Mining and Railway Company, Limited, appearing in the annual report of the Secretary of Mines, Tasmania, reveal that production of copper since the inception of the company to December 31 last was 237,251 tons (fine), silver 14,160,4880z. (fine), and gold 397,8840z. (fine). Dividends have aggregated approximately £5,174,069. The - ore won during 1930, totalling -193,359 tons, was the largest output for any one year. Important additions to the concentrating and refining plants are being made which will bring their total capacity to 13,000 tons per annum of fine copper. WILUNA CORPORATION RESULTS. During July Wiluna Gold Corporation, Limited, Western Australia, treated 25.952 tons of ore for a bullion value of £28,329, or, with the exchange premium, £36,700. Working costs in Australian currency were £26,240, or 20s 3d a ton milled. Development expenditure was £5452. or 4s 2d a ton milled, showing an estimated working surplus of £5007. Expenditure on construction was £4919. TIN SYNDICATE'S INTERESTS. Shareholders of Siamese Tin Syndicate, Limited, were informed by Mr. 11. G. Scott, mining engineer, at a meeting in London that the syndicate had several promising propositions under examination in Australia and Now Zealand. He Said they would not regret the Australian ventures. Mr. Scott spent considerable time in Australia recently supervising the examination of new gold and tin properties, lie is returning to Tasmania early in October chiefly in connection with the syndicate's mining operations near St. Helen's.
