GERMAN WAR MEMORIAL.
NATIONAL COMPETITION. SITE CHOSEN NEAR WEIMAR. (Received August 23. 5.5 p.m.) Times Cable. LONDON, August 22. The Berlin correspondent of the Times states that ithe, National War Memorial Committee has opened a competition for all "artistically active German citizens," for the most suitable design for the memorial. It is proposed to erect it in a beautiful piece of secluded woodland near Weimar. The designs must bo kept within tho simplicity demanded by the needs of the times and the dignity of the subject.
