STEWART ISLAND SHEEP.
— ' MERINO WANDERERS. In the early days when -the Mason's Bay run at Stewart Island was first Stocked Merino sheep were placed there, and in time these spread well into the bush country on the island. Recently some were seen just above Doughboy Bay, showing that they will no doubt gradually roam further afield until they are checked by the mountains near Pegasus. A remarkable thing is that one particular mob of about 25 sheep has frequently been soon which are all dark brown io colour.. r • ■ • : -'
