MANUKAU YACHT CLUB.

PRESENTATION OF PRIZES. The Manukau Yacht and Motor-Boat Club held its annual smoke concert' and presentation of prizes in the clubhouse on Saturday evening. The president, Mr. T. Pnrdington, presided, and there was a large attendance of members and visitors, including re P* e " sentatives from the various clubs on the Waitemata. The chairman extended a welcome to the visitors and congratulated the club on the progress it had made in spite of hard times. The thanks of the club were due to its supporters, who came forward- year after year with trophies and cash prizes. The Mayor of Onehunga k Mr. E. Morton, said his council had the sympathy of yachting at heart and would always help the sport along. The Auckland harbourmaster. Captain IT. H. Sergeant, assured those present that the Harbour Board would, give every assistance, especially when times were good. Mr. Morton was installed in the office oi president by the chairman, and in returning thanks, said ho would like to see the amalgamation of the two yacht clubs on the Manukau brought about. It was his intention to work with that end in view. The prizes won during the year were presented by the commodore, Mr. V. Youngv Following are the prize-winners:—Yachts: Betty (points flag and_ cup),. Miss Mac, Drone (ISft. championship Aug and medal), Rahiri 11., Patrica, Mist Maid, Nyria. mira, Wild Wave. Janet, Aoma (open championship of the Manukau,' flag and , niecl S' '* Sea Gnome (lift, open championship, J s » and medal). Motor-boats: Kaiapoj. math Cup, points cup, flag and £5 casrw, Ramona, Lucinda, Ngaroma, Norma " inath Cup, second six months, and casnj, Te Koa, Shark. . , Mr. Pardington, retiring .president, was the recipient of a case of pipes as a ti o of the esteem in which ho is he'd members of his club. A musical programme under the di of Mr. W. Parcel! was enjoyed by all present.
