FOUR LANGUAGES.
Dr. G. J. Renter, whose provocative book, 44 The English: Are They Human!" was the subject of one of " John o London's " recent " Letters to Gog and Magog," is a descendant of I'aolo Benier, one of the last, Doges of Venice. He is of Franco-Dutch parentage, and went to England at the age of 21. He knew no English whatever, but before long he was earning his living as a journalist. Besides English he also speaks French, Dutch, and German.
