PEER LEAVES PRISON.
LORD TERRINGTON FREE. TERM IN GAOL HOSPITAL. Practically unnoticed was the recent release from Parkhurst Prison, Isle of Wight, of Lord Terrington after he had been there for nearly three years. In June, 1928, he was sentenced at the Old Bailey to four years' penal servitude in connection with frauds, and he had been in hospital at Parkhurst the whole time, suffering from a severe heart affection. Lord Terrington, who wore a smart blue lounge suit and soft hat, looked sunburnt as ho was brought from tho prison hospital in a stretcher and placed in a Red Cross ambulance. Two prison doctors were with him. The * ambulance, tho same in which lie arrived at tho prison three years ago, left Parkhurst with drawn blinds and went to Fishbourue, near Rydc, for embarkation on the ferry to Portsmouth. Lord Terrington's destination was a nursing homo at Soutlisea, where Lady Terrington was waiting for him. During his stay at Parkhurst Lord Terrington, whose "health showed improvemout, was I ■a great reader, and probably no one used the prison library nioro than ho did. Regular visits were paid to him by his wife.
Tile sentence passed upon Lord Terrington at the Old Bailey was for fraudulent conversion of money while acting as solicitor for Sir Harold Reckitt. He was detained in France in March, 1927. Because of the stale of his health lie was placed in hospital at Boulogne and was unable to leave for England until April, 1928. While in Boulogne he married Mrs. de Vere Humphrey.
