SERVICES RECOGNISED.
TRIBUTE TO MR. J. R, FOW. [prom our own correspondent.] HAMILTON. Friday. Warm expressions of appreciation of tha services rendered to Hamilton by Mr. JE. Fow during tho 24 years he had been associated with the Borough Council, for 13 years of which he was Mayor, were made at a function this afternoon. Dr. H. Douglas presided over a large attendance of representative citizens. The Mayor, Dr. F. D. Pinfold, said he had admired Mr. Fow's knowledge of municipal government. Mr. Fow's name would be associated with the history of Hamilton for all time. He asked Mr. Fow to accept a wallet containing £IOO as a token of the people's goodwill and gratitude. Mrs. Fow was presented witii a hairdressing set. In reply, Mr. Fow reviewed the progress of Hamilton during the 24 years he had been on tha council.
