POSITION MUCH IMPROVED. SATISFACTION IN LONDON. (Received August IS. 12,5 a.m.) LOXDOX, August 17. The financial editor of the Daily Telegraph expresses satisfaction at the progress of the Australian loan conversion scheme. Ho says Australia's position has improved enormously in tho past few months. Meanwhile Australia is preserving her credit abroad by not asking foreign bondholders to accept a curtailment of interest. Apparently the danger of default is now definitely averted and holders of . Australian stock can continue confidently to retain their holdings.
