UNPROFITABLE FISHING.

RESULT OF ROUGH WEATHER. For a good many weeks past the amount of fish taken by the Nugget Bay fishermen (Port Molyncux) has been small, and some are now thinking of giving up the fishermen's life, writes a Balcjutha correspondent. Questioned on the subject, one fisherman averred that tho unfavourable weathef has been a terrific handicap, often keeping small oil launches in port when they should have been outside endeavouring to re&p a harvest of groper. Then again the rough seas have dirtied tho sna to such an extent that the work of trawl ing for flat fish Off Shore has been greatly hindered. Altogether, it would seem that the lire Of a fisherman in these southern latitudes during the winter is not only hazardous but also unprofitable.
