INJURED IN GAMES.
MISHAPS TO FOOTBALLERS.
GIRL'S FALL AT BASKETBALL.
A number of footballers received injuries on Saturday. The most seriously hurt was Alan Cato, aged 15, who had his left leg broken while playing for an Auckland Grammar School junior team at Victoria Fark. The injured boy, who resides in Lawrence Street,, Heme Bay, was conveyed by the St. John Ambulance to the Auckland Hospital. Two other footballers, Cyril Golland, aged 21, of Mount Wellington Highway, Ellerslie, a member of the Panmure third grade Rugby team, and Hika T. Wilson, aged 21, of Pukaki Road, Mangere, a member of tho Mangere League team, were also admitted to the hospital suffering from concussion. Their condition is not serious.
At Dargaville, Richard Wells, of Hikurangi, received concussion as a result of being kicked on the head during the representative Rugby League match. Ho was admitted to the Whangarei District Hospital and his condition was satisfactory last evening. While playing basketball at the Drill Hall, Rutland Street, on Saturday afternoon, Dulcio Mullins, aged 14, of Queen Street, Otahubu, fell and struck her head on the asphalt. She received concussion and was removed to the hospital by the St. John Ambulance. Her condition is satisfactory.
