RESISTANCE TO WAR.

EINSTEIN'S SUPPORT. LONDON", August 5. Professor Einstein, the famous scientist, writing to the War Registers' Conference, says tlio Lyons correspondent of the Times, appeals to scientists to refuse to engage in research for war purposes. The clergy, he says, should renounce national prejudices, peace-supporting newspapers should encourage the peoples to refuse war service, and men and women should declare, prior to the Disarmament Conference, their refusal to assist in warlike preparations. "War is the work of Governments," the letter continues, "but among the peoples the idea of resisting war is spreading. This must unflinchingly be extended. Youths who resist conscription are the pioneers of a warless world." Professor Einstein authorised the establishment of a war resisters' international fund.
