OHURA COUNTY AFFAIRS.

BETTER ROAD DESIRED. SCOPE FOR UNEMPLOYED LABOUR ■ [from our own correspondent.] OHURA, Wednesday, A meeting of local authorities through the Ohura County was held at Ohura this week, when it was decided to ask the Minister of Labour, through the Unemployment Board, for sufficient men to complete the formation of the Ohura secondary highway from Toi Toi to the Te Kuiti-Bulls main highway. This was regarded as a national work and it was quite beyond the means of the settlers along the route to raise a special loan for the purpose. In many instances ratepayers were finding difficulty in paving the present county rates. The meeting also urged the continuance of the No. 4A scheme and the engagement of unemployed men for the eradication of ragwort in the county.
