UTTER-ISLAND MATCH.
NORTH PLAYERS SELECTED. The following team has been selected by' Mr. A. T. McClymont as the North Island Rugby League team against tho South Island at Carlaw Park next Saturday:— Fullback.—N. Campbell (Marist). Threequarters.—P. Meehan (Marist), C. List (Marist), B. Davidson (City), and F. Abbott (Ngaruawahia). Halfbacks.—H. Brisbane (Marist), captain, Hassan " (Marist). Forwards.—R. Stephenson (Huntly), S. Campbell (Marist), L. Hutt (Ponsonby), R. Carter (Marist), Timms (Huntly), Clarke (Marist). All local players are requested to attend practice at Carlaw Park to-morrow and Thursday next at 7.30. Any player unable to practice or play is reauested to ring the selector. The selection will cause few surprises. Marist, winners of the senior championship of tho Auckland Rugby League, has eight representatives in the thirteen. The inclusion of N. Campbell as fullback will, perhaps, cause a mild surprise although he has Ijeen playing w.ell in recent club matches. S. Campbell, hooker, has been freely penalised throughout tho season and on this account his selection was not anticipated. NEWTON BEATS HAMILTON. [from our own correspondent.] HAMILTON, Sunday Playinff at Hinemoa Park, Hamilton, yesterday tho Newton Rugby League team defeated Hamilton by 31 points to 0. Tho homo team was easily outclassed in every department and the result was never in doubt. CHRISTCHURCH AND DUNEDIN.
