Temperatures are likely to become very cold. Westerly to south-westerly winds, strong to gale, and squally. Rough seas on the west coast. Local outlook: Squally, with heavy showers. The Government meteorologist reported last evening as follows:—An anti-cyclone stjll extends across the north Tasman Sea, bi}b has lost intensity. A deep westerly depression has been crossing the Dominion to-day, and is moving eastward. Indications are for westerly to southerly winds, strong to gale force. Seas heavy south of Farewell Spit, elsewhere rough. Strong south-westerly winds to gales and rough seas, later moderating gradually in the eastern Tasman Sea. The weather will be cold and squally, with showers in most districts, some hail and snow in the South-and snow on ranges generally. RAINFALL RECORD.
