CONTROVERSY OVER DAM.
SYDNEY, July 13,
•As a result of heavy rain flood .waters tarn Lake Urana, 393 milos south of Sydney. 'covered 15,000 acres of land to a de Pth of 10ft. to 15ft. The residents of district want the Water Conservation Apartment to have the dam cut at the franco to the lake in order to release water _ The people residing in the town of prana, situated on a creek which empties "ito the lake, are becoming alarmed, as "to water is gradually backing up round town. It is still raining slightly. There is some talk of direct action in Cn 'ting down the dam.
The residents of Jerilderie, Moulamein 4n d Deniliquin, towns lower down the object to the dam being cut as * e 'r property would bo flooded.
