BRITAIN BEATS CZECH TEAM.
AUSTIN LOSES SINGLES.

In the Davis Cup contest Britain, having won the first two singles, won the European zone final when Perry and Hughes beat Menzel and Marsalek (Czecho-Slovakia) in the doubles, 6—4, 4—6, 6—4, 6—2. In the third singles Hechfc defeated Austin, 6—2, 7—5, 6—4. ,This is Britain's first defeat in 1931. Austin was much below form. Perry defeated \ Mendel, 7—5, 6-3, 7-5.
