VICE-REGAL RECEPTION.
Four hundred visiting delegates to the conference of. the New Zealand Farmers' Union were entertained at Government House, Wellington, on Thursday afternoon by.the Governor-General and the Lady Bledisloe. The guests were received at the door of the drawing room by Their Excellencies, who afterwards walked round and conversed with the visitors. Her Excellency wore a frock and coat of moss green, and a turban hat of the same shade. Lady Norah Jellicoe, wearing a black frock and hat, Mrs. Cecil Day, in a black and white ensemble, SirJohn Hanham, Lieutenant John Ehvorthy, R.N., and Mr. A. G. Day were all in attendance, and assisted Their Excellencies to enteftain the guests, who spent a delightful afternoon. Beautiful hothouse flowers and bowls of violets and early narcissi decorated the rooms, in which were large and inviting fires. Tea was served in the ballroom, where an orchestra played attractive music.
