POLICE COURT NEWS.
CHARGES OF THEFT. A charge of stealing an overcoat valued at £6, the property of Ralph Alexander Johnson, was preferred against Frank Goldsmith, labourer and electrician, aged 49 (Mr. Aekins), before Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., in the Police Court on Saturday. Accused pleaded not guilty and was remanded until next Monday. Bail was fixed at £SO.
On a charge of stealing a hat valued at 19s 6d from a drapery establishment on Friday, a domestic, aged 25, was remanded until to-morrow. On a charge of obtaining £25 by false pretences from Kenneth John Ballance McCurdle, at Maramarua, on December 31, Charles Robertson (Mr. Moody) was remanded until Saturday. Bail was fixed at £IOO.
