WASHING AT ITS WORST.
Boys' clothes are particularly troublesome to wash. Grease, oil, and tar stains have sometimes to be removed as well as grime and mud. The best treatment is a paraffin wash. Paraffin will quickly dissolve any form of grease and oil, and will help, to cleanse the clothes quickly. Put two tablespoonfuls of paraffin into the copper with eight gallons of water, and enough soap flakes or grated soap to make the water foamy. Let the clothes simmer in this for about twenty to thirty minutes, then rinse in two, lots of hot water and hang out in the air to 9ry and remove the smell of paraffin. , Paraffin washing is also excellent in the case of an infectious illness, as it acts as a disinfectant.
