CURE FOR INSANITY.
VALUE OF ROLLER SKATING.
America lias found another new idea. Scientists are trying to cure insanity by roller skating. They started it at the mental institute at Jacksonville, Illinois. Dr. 0. St. Clair Drake, the managing officer, now has on his staff seven physicians and 175 pairs of roller skates. From 8 a.m. to 4.30 p.m., roller skating is <?n the recreational menu. Then there is an evening period devoted to the treatment. One patient for whom it 6eemed there was little hope is to-day a star performer on the rink. , It has now been found that he had been a professional but had forgotten. He is stated to be on the road to recovery. Other patients who had ceased to taite an interest in themselves now go spinning round contentedly. Other State hospitals are considering adding skates to the recreational curriculum.
