ANIMALS GO TO CHURCH.
PETS AT WEDDINGS.
Should pets attend church ? At several fashionable weddings in London recently the bride and groom have been greeted by their dogs as they came from the church. Cats, too, have appeared, and at one wedding the bride was met by her pet monkey at the door. The Rev. Basil Bou-chier, of St. Anne's, Soho, says:—"After all, what harm is there, providing that the animal does not make ' a noise ? A friend of mine, a Roman Catholic priest, agrees with me. He has a magnificent St. Bernard dog, which attends church every day and lies at the foot of the altar throughout the service.
" The friendship between a man and his dog is a beautiful thing, but an animal may not bo buried in consecrated ground. A man I knew asked that his dog be buried with him, but because of this, law the man had to bo buried near the wall of the churchyard. and the dog just outside."
