FIFTY POUNDS STOLEN.
THEFT FROM INDIAN'S HUT. • rMONEY ' RECOVERED 's 'LATER.' > [from our own. correspondent.] . . PUKEKOHE, Thursday. The sum of £52 in notes was stolen from a hut occupied by an Indian named Parema this morning. The money waa recovered by the Pukekohe police early, this evening. ' , The hut is situated on the outskirts of Pukekohe, at the end of a side road leading on to the Puni Road. The money was in the inside pocket of a coat hanging in one of the rooms and Parema said it was intact when he looked in the pocket early in the morning. Later hei discovered that the money was missing; and informed the police.
A search was instituted and the noteii were found concealed in a bed in a dwell- 1 ing about a mile away. •
