The difficulty anticipated by some unions in getting representative' teams to tour owing to th& economic depression has not been experienced to any great extent by Southland, the first major union to send its team 011 tour this season, and a fully representative eide, which will travel as far as Auckland, will leave Invercargill on Thursr dAy. The cost of sending the Southland team north will amount'to over £6OO. Tho Giago team will go on tour also as far as Auckland about the end of August, 1 and it is not anticipated that much diffi- ' cully will be found in sending a strong side 1 away. r £ho University students selected : 'will'be on vacation at that time.
