BRIDGE AFTERNOONS.
ST. JOHN AMBULANCE
To augment tho funds of tho men's division of tho Onehunga branch of tho St. John Ambulance a successful bridge afternoon was organised by Mrs. J. Kirkwood and Mrs. David Cuthbert, and held in the John Court, Limited, tearooms yesterday. Over 20 tables were occupied by players and a very enjoyable afternoon was spent. JEWISH WOMEN'S SOCIETY
Tho committee of tho Jewish Women's Benevolent Society held a successful bridgo and mah jong afternoon in the Milne and Choyce Reception Hall yesterday. The work carried out by the society is purely undenominational, and the proceeds of the function will bo used for buying material to make garments which will bo distributed to tho poor and needy of Auckland through the. Charitable Aid Board. Tho Mayoress, Mrs. G. W. Hutchison, was present. Tho members of tho committee were:—Mrs. G. Pezaro, president; Miss C. Paykel, Mrs. M. Lichtenstein, Mrs. A. QUERY CLUB
A very successful bridgo afternoon, organised by tho Dovonport members of tho Girls' Query Club, to raise funds for their charitable work, was held on Tuesday at Mangahei, Mrs. C. F.
