YESTERDAY'S WEATHER.
CONDITIONS IN THE SOUTH. Auckland.—The weather was very changeable yesterday, fine weather during the day being followed by a boisterous north-east wind and heavy rain in tha evening. Wellington.—Although there was littla sunshine yesterday the weathc-r was fine. The wind turned to the south during tha day and the afternoon was cold. * ' Christchurch.—Tho sky was overcast yesterday and there was a cold breeza from the south-west. The maximum tern* perature was 46deg. Tho barometer was steady, the reading in the evening being 30.05 in. Dunedin.—The weather was overcast, cold and unsettled, with a light breeza from the south-west. The maximum temperature was 54deg. Tho barometer showed a rising tendency and the reading in the evening was 30.05i0.
