EX-NEW ZEALAND HORSES. WIN FOR DOLLAR PRINCESS. [FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.] SYDNEY, Juno 11. ITavaspot was tried out over a milo and aquarter at Rundwick on Monday. Carrying 8.3 (Don Moon top-weight 9.2.), ho ran a great race for nine furlongs, but could not go on over tlic last bit. However, ho should win suburban ten-furlong handicaps in-spito of this failure. The winner was Tortoni, who had been beaten by him over a milo at "Warwick Farm.

Gomlight is proving a big disappointment to the public these days. He is running very badly, but his form was mixed prior to his most recent winning efforts. Ho was well beaten in tho race won by lortoni. and is now to go out for a spell. Gay Ballerina was expected to win tho Juno Stakes, but a bump roceived just after the start settled her chance. Sho is too small to stand buffeting in a largo field, but should win on ono of tho smaller tracks when the opposition is not bo strong. Australia's crack sprinter Greonline has broken down. He was to liavo been offered at auction, but that has been cancelled. Il is doubtful if ho will be trained again. Greensea, winner of tho Juno Stakes, is regarded mainly as a welter horse, although ho won this race last year. lie obliged again on Monday, putting up a really good performance with 8,12. Greensea began smartly from an outsido barrier position and cut off some of thoso inside. He is a good advertisement for Greenstead. Tho brothers O'Rourke won two races at Canterbury Park on Saturday with Auda and Dollar Princess. Tho latter is a two-year-old filly by Paper Money from Piquant, once trained by S. J. Reid at lrfefitham. Sho was ridden by M. McCarten,. and oanio from behind to score. W. Kelso may have a good handicap performer in Talkie, a three-year-old novice winner at Randwick on Monday. Talkie, who is by Magpie from Castile, is in all tho bis spring events, and, may not bo at all out of place. Gesture's Bister Miss Nottava secured third place in a, seven furlongs two-year-old handicap at Randwick on Monday by sheer staying ability. Sho is still on the email side, but is a good sticker. , , , . Some idea of tho weakness of suburban handicap fielda may be obtained by PlulHpic's success at Canterbury P«rk last Saturday. Ho has not greatly improved since racing in New Zealand, yet ho won the principal handicap from five moderates. Middledistance horses of ability would be valuable property in- Sydney at present.

FILLY BY WHIRLWIND. RELATION TO AMMON RA. While the preliminaries for the Maiden Plate Handicap were in progress at To Rupa on Monday Mr. R. T. Reid's rising two-year-old filly by Whirlwind from Clone was allowed to stride along for a short distance with the colourß up. M. J. Carroll has the filly well forward, and she created a good impression by behaving very sedately ond also hitting out with plenty of freedom. . , , , , Much interest will ho taken in the future of the filly-, because she is one of the first of Whirlwind's to go into training, and also belongs to a family that lias been represented by some notable winners in recent years. The filly's dam, Cione. is a fullsister fo Phaola and Prodice and a halfsister to Amnion Ra. Breeding is in favour of the youngster being able to gallop fast and in addition she possesses fine physique.
