FREEZING WORKS FIRE.
£77,850 DAMAGES CLAIMED. ACTION COMMENCES TO-DAY. [by telegram.—own correspondent.] GISBORNE, Tuesday. In the Supreme Court to-morrow Mr. Justice Blair will commence the hearing of the action of the Wairoa Farmers' Cooperative Meat Company, Limited, and the Bank of New Zealand, against the New Zealand Insurance Company, Limited, and the Eagle, Star and British Dominions Insurance Company, Limited, in which plaintiffs are claiming £77,850 for damage to freezing works in Wairoa, allegedly caused by a fire on February 5. The plaintiffs will be represented by Messrs. Harold Johnston, K.C., of Wellington, L. T. Burnard, of Gisborne, and Lloyd Wilson, of Wellington, instructed by Mr. C. V. Chamberlain, of Defendants will be represented by Messrs. A. Gray, K.C., of Wellington, and H. P. Richmond and A. H. Johnstone, of Auckland, instructed by Messrs. Buddie, Richmond and Buddie.
