CITY PROGRESS LEAGUE.
MUCH WORK ACCOMPLISHED. RE-ELECTION OF COMMITTEE. Satisfaction with the result of tho year's work was expressed at the annual meeting of the City Central Progress League, which was held in Milne and Choyce's Reception Hall yesterday. Tho Mayor, Mr. G. W. Hutchison, and representatives of other organisations, were present. Tho president, Mr. L. Coakley, said the league had had a busy year and much had been accomplished. It was clearly shown that its existence was justified, and there was a prospect of further problems as Auckland developed. _ Cordial relations with tho civic authorities had been maintained. "Your organisation is carrying on a very good work." said Mr. Hutchison. "A great deal can be effected by discussing city matters and any constructive criticism will always bo appreciated by the City Council." Greetings from their respective associations wero conveyed by Mr. S. Takle, president of tlio Auckland Manufacturers' Association, Mr. W. S. Spence, president of the Employers' Association, and Mr. M. J. Bennett, president of the Karangahape Road Business Promotion foociely. The report, which was published in the New Zealand Herald on June 10, was adopted. Tho committee was re-elected with tho addition of Mr. G. E. Browne.
