STRUCK BY A CHISEL.
WORKMAN'S CLAIM FAILS. ACCIDENT NOT NEGLIGENCE. [n* TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON. Tuesday. A workman, 11. S. 'J'ennant, to-day claimed £93 18s from Jenkins and Mack, Ltd., in respect to injuries received when struck by a chisel which fell 100 ft. from a plumber working above at tho new Commercial Travellers' Club building. Mr. E. Page, S.M., classed the accident as similar to spilling a cup of tea or a bottle of ink, one of those accidents which were liable to happen at any time and which did not necessarily entail negligence. He did not think there was any negligence on the part of tho contractors or their servant and gave judgment for the defendant firm.
