THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL.
VISIT TO ARAPUNI WORKS. DEPARTURE FOR ROTORUA. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] PDTARUEU, Tuesday. The Governor-General, Lord Bledisloe, accompanied by the Lady Bledisloe; a,nd Sir John Hanham, visited Arapuni to-day. They were met by Mr. F. -W. Furkert, engineer-in-chief to the Public Works Department, and. Mr.. T, C. U. Rabone, officer in charge of tho works at Arapuni. After having been shown over the works Their Excellencies were entertained at luncheon at the hostel and subsequently Her Excellency was presented with a handsome tray made by Mr. P. Bcero,.an old school companion in Swansea, from the woods of the buried forest at Arapuni. The party left later for Rotorua by car. Their Excellencies will proceed from Rotorua to Gisbonie on an official visit, and will- return to .Wellington via .Wairoa and Napier.
