OBITUARY.
MR. EDWIN BILKEY. [from our own correspondent.] PUKEKOHE, Monday. An association with tho Pukekohe district of more than half a century terminated on Saturday with tho death of Mr. Edwin Bilkey, aged 78 years. Mr. Bilkev had been farming at Buckland, on land at tho foot, of Pukekohe Hill, for the past 54 years. He was tho third son of the lato Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bilkey, who came to New Zealand by the ship Bombay 56 years ago, As a youth he was engaged at Mount Albert on tho land with the lato Mr. Jacob Wright, his parents being at that time at Onehunga. They moved to Buckland 54 years ago and he accompanied them, a year later acquiring his own property there, on which he had resided since. He converted the area from scrub and bush into highly-productive farm land. Mr. Bilkoy was known over a wide district as an excellent horseman, being able to handle all classes of horses in a very capable mannor. On occasions he rode at the local race meetings. He is survived by his wife and four sons, and there are eight grandchildren.
MRS. ROBERT DODDS. Tho death of Mrs. Robert Dodds, of Wairere, Paparoa, occurred in Auckland last Friday. She had been in failing health for some months. Mrs. Dodds, who was in her 58th year, was the second daughter of the lato Mr. and Mrs. Gerase Tibbits, Albertland settlors, and had been a resident of Paparoa all her life. She is survived by her husband, a well-known grazier of Paparoa, and two daughters and ono son.
