TRAGIC FISHING TRIP.
INQUEST ON ONE VICTIM. OTHER TWO B6DIES NOT FOUND. [rnoit our own correspondent.] BAGLAN, Monday. The adjourned inquest touching the death of Mr. Percy Bywater Nelson, aged 69, one of three victims of the tragedy caused by the capsize of a small boat on the Raglan bar on May 22, was concluded on Saturday. William Middlemiss said on May 22 deceased borrowed a. boat from him to go fishing in the harbour. The boat was in good repair. Deceased was accompanied by a young man, William Lomas, and. a boy named Arnold. He knew Nelson was a competent oarsman. He advised them to fish near some Maoris who were in a boat opposite the wharf. William McCallum said he saw deceased rowing toward the harbour mouth later in the day. Constable O'Sullivan gave evidence of tho search for the missing fishermen. Mr. Nelson's body was found on the ocean beach to the north of tho harbour mouth. The coroner, Mr. S. Pelham, returned a verdict of death by accidental drowning. The bodies of the other two victims liavo not been found.
