HOSPITAL RESOURCES.

Sir,— Seeing tho Hospital Board is in a quandary as to how it is to make ends moot under the present restrictions, may I suggest that it gets rid of its so : called hospital reserve at Manurowa. In the palmy days it purchased at a high figure a large area of scrub land, which hffs since been turned into a larin by the occupier, who pays practically a pepper- . corn rental. This land is costing tho board some hundreds of pounds a year. If it sold the farm, which is never likely to bo used as a site, for half the money paid for it, there would bo a few thousands available to make good deficiences in this year's expenditure. Ferhaps tho experience might warn the board of the dangers associated with land dealing and of piling up capital charges long before they are necessary. Scots Wha llae.
