Sir,—Tho expense of putting up the fence should be on Mabel Dawson should she be the owner of the dog. I think only lovers of dogs should keep thorn and then they u'ould value (hem too much to allow them to wander into people's gardens. Miss Dawson suggests the remedy lies in pulling a fence around the garden. To keep out the type of dog that roams the streets of Remuera would require, at the least, a 6ft. fence. Therefore, in order that a minority may let their dogs roam loose, the majority must go to the expense of building expensive fences and the appearance of a delightful suburb must be spoilt.
