DERATING FARM LANDS.
NORTH AUCKLAND OPINION. [from our own correspondent.] KAVvAKAWA, Friday. A meeting of several North Auckland county councils was held at Kawakawa on Wednesday for the purpose of discussing the derating of farm lands. The Bay of Islands, Whangaroa and Hokianga , Councils were represented. An apology for non-attendance was received from the Mangonui County Council, which expressed sympathy with the proposal. After a long discussion a resolution was carried agreeing with the principle of derating farm lands as far as finding revenue for roads was concerned.
